How Many Nights in a Row Can I Give Baby Tylenol
Hi all,
Dd is 12 months and a late tether (ie no teeth yet), simply I swear to God it has to finally exist happening! Her upper and lower gums are totally swollen, I tin can see white outlines especially on the top, she'due south drooling like crazy, and she's endlessly knowing on her hand and feeling fussy. This is teething, correct?! Anyway, this has been going on for a few days so we've given her Tylenol at night for the last four nights (final night nosotros tried skipping it because she was less fussy during the day, but she took forever to put downwardly and so woke upwards four hours later inconsolably crying with her hands in her mouth so I gave her some at 11 at night—she went to bed whine-free afterward like xv minutes).
It's been 4 nights in a row, then, simply still zip popping through. I don't want to push medication needlessly, just it does seem to be helping. How long can I do this for? Would subbing ibprofin be ameliorate? Worse?
My mom is a pharmacist and she tells me it'southward fine. I honestly trust dcum more, though! What practice y'all think?

Until the teeth come through. Y'all can give Motrin likewise if you feel like yous need to, though I'grand non sure why that is different to yous. It's however medication. Just follow recommended dosages.

There was a month or two period where we gave it about 50% of the time. Felt guilt. Kid is fine, and we all got to sleep, yay.

Why in the heck practice yous trust DCUM more than than a chemist?
Ibuprofen is easier on the liver merely harder on the tum. As well: have y'all tasted either of the baby formulations of these drugs? The ibuprofen is kinda spicy.

OP hither—my mom wayyyyyyyy over-medicated when we were young. The slightest pain/illness/discomfort/whatever was met with a drench of meds from a VERY early age. Sometimes medications had expired and/or she'd give prescription meds leftover from like, my siblings' scripts. She insisted everything was fine and yeah nosotros are all adults and fine merely I'd similar to err on the side of, um, not that many meds lol.
I know if something had even the well-nigh remote chance of Not existence ok, dcum would exist the first to permit me know haha.

Agree that Motrin is better than Tylenol for teething, but want to warn that it used to upset my dc's stomach (they oft threw upward their last bottle when I gave). Hopefully your dc can tolerate better! Proficient luck!

Also child of a pharmacist, hither. The overwhelming majority of medications tin be taken well past their expiration date with no ill result and with nearly all of their original potency. The just common exception, either OTC or Rx, is tetracycline antibiotics. Depending on what your mom was giving you and for what symptoms, it may not take reflected the poor judgment you lot seem to imagine that it did.
You do you...but remember that the reverse of your mom is non necessarily "yous."
